Is it normal that i'm against invitro fertilization?
Before you start giving me hateful speeches and flammatory comments, please hear me out. I understand that there's millions of people that want a baby of their own. I get that and I understand that having a child is a natural part of a person's life and that for many, it's a huge milestone/rite of passage. However, I believe that IVF should be abolished. I don't support it because
1) It usually results in MANY multiple births (Take Miss Nadya Suleman for instance- she had Octuplets)
2) It's highly expensive and invasive.
3) It's not as successful as one believes (many times the embryos won't even take therefore not resulting in pregnancy- that's why more often than not, multiple embryos have to be implanted)
4) Babies born from IVF tend to be less healthy than those concieved and born naturally via sexual intercourse
and
5) (This is the biggest reason) There are SO many children in both foster homes and orphanages that need homes as well as parents.
It just doesn't seem right for a person that's suffering fertility problems to undergo IVF knowing the 5 things above. I firmly believe that if you can't have a baby via sex, ICI (Intra Cervical Insemination) and/or IUI (Intra Uterine Insemination), then it's not meant to be and you should be open to adopting an already existing child instead. Personally, if I wanted a baby one day and I were unable of having said baby, then I would adopt because I believe that if I suffer from infertility and sought out IVF, then it would be highly selfish of me to do so)
I'm not saying it's selfish for anyone else to do it though- just not right IMO).
I'm sorry if this makes me a bad person. It's just how I feel.
