Is it normal that i'm afraid to cut my hair?

My hair is pretty long (it goes down to about 1 cm above my waist), and I am planning to cut it this summer. I want to cut it, but I'm kinda afraid to, since I feel like I can hide behind it, you know? I am a very shy person, and I feel like I'll feel all exposed with short hair. Is this normal, and what do I do about it (without having to just not cut it)?

i used to hate getting my hair cut simply because i didn't trust anyone enough to be near my head with scissors! :p i know it's not the same thing really but seriously, if you just grin and bare it and go for it i guarantee you won't regret it. in fact, you'll probs feel better for it because you'll look hot!

Maybe cutting your hair is the next foothold on the ladder to becoming a man. Or a woman. I don't know.

You gotta stop being shy. If cutting your hair will draw attention, great! You'll have more opportunities to engage in communication and more opportunities to rid yourself of insecurity, because, let's face it, shyness is insecurity, and you don't want that.
