Is it normal that i'm a happy go lucky guy but like depressing music

I like listening to songs dealing with drugs, suicide, depression, loneliness and all that good stuff. People have called me a hppy go lucky guy and when questioned on my music taste they are alway surprised. Is this normal?

    Music perceived as Sad/Depressing normally has stronger melodic content. Its possible you like listening to the minor keys more than major.

    I too am a usually happy-go-lucky kind of guy. That just happens to love depressing, emo-tastic music.

    I think I like it because it helps me tap into a part of my heart and mind I don't usually go into.

    nice im pretty much the same... im a fun guy but my favorite band is Avenged sevenfold and my favorite album by them is Nightmare...but yea totally normal in my opinion

    I listen to a bunch of death metal and black metal, among much more negative music, while I'm a pretty positive guy myself (for the most part).

      i'm the same way. i love bands like black veil brides, blessthefall, etc. and i'm really cheerful all the time. but i'm a person who does alot of thinking about moral meanings and the like, so that may be a reason why i like them.
