Is it normal that i love plants more than animals?
Many people are animal lovers that freak out about animal abuse, but I never really cared about animals. When I see those ASPCA ads on TV, I think "Yeah yeah whatever, just skip to my TV show.". Even though animals have brains and plants don't, I can't help loving plants a lot more than animals. One time I saw a post on this site, that was about someone who peed on their neighbor's shrubs because it was funny to see the pee make the plant turn black and die. It broke my heart, I mean why would you want to kill an innocent plant that took a long time and a lot of effort to grow? There was also a post about someone who wanted to kill a tree as revenge. This is a tree that takes tens of years to grow, and had a long life. I have a pet rabbit and a carolina reaper plant, but I find myself loving the plant a lot more than the rabbit. I Have a maternal instinct for it, I would probably mourn more if the plant died.
In case you were wondering, yes I eat vegetables, and I'm actually a vegan for health reasons. But vegetables were grown for the purpose of eating; it's just like how animal lovers freak out when a dog is abused, but they don't give a **** about the cow abuse in farms. Killing a shrub that was grown for decorative reasons, or plants that aren't meant to be eaten whole, that's different. I also don't have a problem with pulling weeds, since they are so easy to grow you don't even have to try.
