I have this pillow I am really attached to. I've had it since I was like 9 years old. Anyways I named it Pilly and I sleep with it every night. I don't let anyone touch it because I think they will get it dirty. I rarely wash it because I am afraid I'll destroy it. I love that thing to death. Is that normal?
I love my "pillow". I had a pillow that I carried around as a baby. And kept it til a teenager. Family called it my stinky pillow. I was obsessed. I went to college. Still had it. But kept it "hidden" at home. My mom threw it away and said she lost it. But now I do the same obsession with my "pillow". I won't wash it for long periods of time. And somehow the smell gets to what I remember of thee original "pillow". From reading the threads maybe it's drool that creates the smell? I'm not really a open mouth/drool sleeper. I think for me it's just the body smell idk. Maybe it's drool lol. Either way after I wash the pillow it takes about a few days or a week to smell familiar again. But it's a habit. And I'm grown. Prob never gonna stop. Not hurting anyone; soooooo. I've accepted it. But this thread made me feel human. Thanks guys!! -I'll love my pillow foreverrrrrrrr! *bury me with my pillow!! ;)
i had a teddy bear when a was 2 i named it blacky and since i turned 8 ive cept it in a box so when i have kids i can hand it down to them
Last year I got myself a baby. I named it 'Humanee', so you must be normal.
i have a fish named fishy when i was little i used to take it every were since i was so small it would drag on the floor every were i when were my mom and tried to take it away but i convinced her to just clean it instead so see it is normal alot of people have them

i used to have a bib i was obsessed with when i was little, i couldent sleep without it, and i would take it everywhere with me. but my mum took it from me and burned it. so i dont have it any more ='[
It doesn't hurt anyone and it comforts you. Who cares if someone doesn't like it!
I'm the same way with my pillow except I haven't named mine. I probably will now though! Lol! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my pillow!!!!

I have a stuff cat named Marie from the Arstiocats and i sleep with that.I imagine it talking to me sometimes in a british accent.

sounds like your pillow is your security blanket type of thing. that is a common habit of babies and young children.
who knows why a person would love a pillow? i have no idea.
if you are getting to an age where you will be the target of teasing about the pillow, i suggest you find a lovely box to store it in, and only take it out when you are alone. someday in the future you will giggle about how much you loved that pillow:)
