Is it normal that i'll only wear black?

Okay. Before you jump to conclusions, I'm not gothic. Ever since I was in the 5th grade, I've been very particular with what I wear, and thus decided on wearing black only. It's not some vow that I made, just some silly unconscious decision to wear drab clothes. On the rare occasion I'll wear white.

Does anyone else have a very strict dress code set for themselves? Please expand.

I think it's rather normal. We all have clothing that makes us feel our best and comfortable with ourselves. I wear skirts, all the time. Never wear pants. I, too, started to doing that subconsciously. But it's a habit I don't have intentions on breaking, because it make me feel comfortable.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day
And tell the world that everything's okay
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back
Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black

I went through a phase like this, which is annoying because now most of my clothes are black even though I don't like it at all. It used to feel cool but now I just feel drab and pretentious in the most unoriginal way if I wear the same all-black clothes I used to. Black is a colour which symbolises mourning and sadness and "darkness" and social withdrawal, and I can't say I want to make negative associations like those a part of my identity. Even if I was someone who felt those feelings often, making it part of your identity is what makes you "comfortably numb" instead of resistant to it. So I don't wear much black anymore :P

Not that I would ever make assumptions about anyone who does. Those are just the things I feel about it in relation to myself, not anyone else.

I must admit I am the same. I've never been able to comprehend the attraction of colors.

I don't care if it's hot. If I have to leave the house I will almost always have on a long sleeve.

Mmhmm. I remember. Corduroy and elbow patches. Yes sir. Have you ever designed your own cons? They were my favorite pair ever when I did it. I also love the all black ones.

That's not the thing, really. I wear black because I like it, and I think it fits me the best. As I said, not gothic.

Black is also associated with Minimalism, at least in terms of art and high fashion. The average person probably won't make the link. I think that it's normal. I used to wear a lot of dark clothing. However, in my younger years, it was due to depression and rebellion. I think it really pissed of some people, a fact which I now find to be strange. I don't fit a lot of my clothes now because, I grew, so there's a limit to what I can wear. My pants are varying shades of blue denim. I have mostly black and blue shirts but, I mainly wear the blue ones. I really need to by more clothes because wearing high waters can be a little embarrassing!
