Is it normal that i'll avoid friends who i think are mad at me?

Well, maybe not mad, but like if I blow off a plan instead of saying "I'm so sorry but something came up, we should do it some other time" I'll just avoid them, and then end up making up a lie about it "Sorry for blowing you off two weeks ago, but I had this essay and then I lost my phone." After that, everything goes back to normal and it seems obvious that I could have just said the first thing not gone through all of this. But I can't help it.

I do a similar thing. Whenever they text or call me, I'll automatically think that they're angry at me and try to avoid talking to them for as long as possible.

seems like you just love to please people all the time, and you hate to let people down.seems like you have been rejected in the past.just realise that real friends will be there for you in all situations.if they are not understanding of you, they ain't your real friends anyway.

Yes that's normal, some people just don't like confrontation, however it is best to resolve it rather than letting it sit and fester.

I'm the friend that gets angry, and I get pissed off when people avoid me, but I think its perfectly normal, if they apologise a while later I'll most likely have cooled off so things can go back to normal
