I have know my best friend for a little over 10 years now. We tell each other everything, and I mean everything. He is a man and I am a woman. About 4 years ago we started living together, and I was very young at the time (he is 4 years older than me). We have been sleeping in the same bed, just as friends for security reasons. He hasn't had a girlfriend because if he were to bring a girl home I would have to sleep on the couch. Everyone thinks we are an item but we are not. Is it normal to want to live with him, or should I let him live his own life?

    I think that's really special. A lot of people might not understand your relationship, but thats okay. It's definitely not in the norm of things, but if it works for you two, it doesn't matter if it's normal or not.

    That being said, if this relationship you two have is preventing him from having a romantic relationship with another woman, you might want to re-think things.

    Maybe he secretly loves you but is afraid you might reject him. Also, your story sounds a lot like the movie "just friends."

    I'm sure it's normal to want to live with him but is the situation you guys have going on normal. No it doesn't sound like it. I don't understand the need for sleeping in the same bed. I know you said it was for security reasons though so I don't really know what to say or suggest.
