Is it normal that i live in my head?

I live in my head. I feel the most happy, alive, excited, and content with life when I'm just day dreaming. I think I have spent 75% of my life just thinking and imagining things. I like day dreaming more that I like socializing. If I'm out doing things and being social like a normal person, unless I am having a lot of fun, I am usually totally bored and I can't wait to go home, just sit in my room and think. Am I weird?

  • I'm guilty of this. But it's better to act instead of dream; to do otherwise is folly.

Well, it's pretty normal for me. I mean, I actually prefer to live inside my head instead of in reality. Why? Because we can make others do and say what we wanted them to do. We can kill them off or make them confess to us or something.

Yes it's normal. Real life people are assholes.
It's better to just imagine a fantasy than to actually just live and interact with the world

Although this happens to me as well but i can't say it's normal. As for me the few minutes before sleeping are the time of the day when i live the life i want to have, i imagine all the happy scenarios till i fall asleep. But by time i discovered this is not a good idea. Just waking up in the morning is like a shock. So here is what i decided, instead of having those dreams i do my best to make them true so when i wake up in the morning i enjoy them instead of having that terrible feeling

Well, I know what you mean about being bored when out. Especially if you're somewhere so loud you can't hear much of what's being said. There have been plently of times I've thought, hey, I'd rather be at home watching a film! lol

It really depends on what you want to get out of life. If you just want to relax and enjoy life, then there's nothing wrong with living in your head. However, if you want to be an impeccable warrior, on top of your game and filled with personal power, day dreaming will only make you less-aware and weaker. I choose to be a warrior and want to be the best at everything I can be. Day dreaming is fun and feels good but I try to avoid it as much as possible so that I can stay in the game and be ready for anything at any time. That one second you're day dreaming in public could be enough time for someone to pick pocket you.

You're not weird, just introverted. Join the club.

I kinda do the same thing. Most likely, you're just an introvert.

Thats ok, but don't isolate yourself from the world. Even if you don't like socializing, its good to socialize at least a little. It helps you grow as an individual.

Inside my head is a perfect concrete world. I have really bad anxiety, so many things make me very nervous daily. However, when I put my headphones in, and start day dreaming. Nothing can hurt me here. I control every piece of the game. Hell, I end up writing out some of the things I think up, and it's turned out to be a really amazing story. Other people even like it too.

I didn't know other people did this!! Im comforted to know others do this. because i actually do the same exact thing. I do not find this weird at all. because i have also been doing this most of my life. Some times i feel lonely. but I dont always want to socialize with others, unless the completly understand why i do this. So im so happy to actually know!!!!!!! that others do this!!

I too enjoy being alone with my thoughts. I can go almost entire days and barely speak to anyone, yet, I never feel lonely or alone. In fact, I feel like there is a blurr of activity at all times. Usually I have some quite background noise, but not on purpose. I don't even noticed that time has passed so quickly until something will startle me from my internal activity realm. When I listen to others describe there lives, it seems similar in perspective.
