Is it normal that i listen to happy music when i'm sad and vice versa?

When I'm sad or feeling down, I usually listen to happy, upbeat music. For some reason, I can't get myself to listen to sad, depressing songs when I'm depressed myself.

Also, it happens vice versa as well. When I'm happy and energetic, I tend to listen to depressing, heartbreaking songs, and I when I try to listen to songs that'll match my mood, I'll usually just revert back to the reversed ones.

Do you guys do this as well?

Pretty much all of the albums I own are depressing, I think negative emotions tend to create something more powerful than anything happy

I completely agree with you. I've never understood why sad people would listen to sad music, wouldn't that just make them feel worse?
