Who you are attracted to is not up to you, or to who other people, or to what society thinks you should be attracted to. It's a very odd thing, attraction. Just being attracted to one thing and not another doesn't make you racist. If you were to think less of others with darker pigmentarion because of their lessened ability to reflect light then you would be racist, but you don't. So find your light boy and love him and don't give a shit about what others think of you.

i feel the same way. it's like people think they know what you're like before you even speak. i'm just really attracted to pale skin. but i guess they are too, and that's the pproblem :/

Feeling attracted to people of other colour is fine, and yes, black women are beautiful too. Make sure that you are not just looking for acceptance though and really do love yourself for who you are.

Well, let me just say that any boy who doesn't find you attractive because of a stereotype is NOT worth your time anyway. It took me many years to even realize that with my facial structure, body type and skin color, I will NEVER look like the stereotypical "pretty white female". What really helped me was to start reading books by radical chicana/native/black women who embraced their looks (I don't know if you would agree with their beliefs, but I think it's really important to be exposed to affirmative statements about these body types in the media). Once you're able to say, 'honey, I'm NEVER going to look like Miley Cyrus or Britney Spears...but I am EQUALLY beautiful as any white woman, and I'm PROUD of who I represent" then I promise there will be someone (white or not) who will love you for who you are. I think it's fine that you're attracted to white dudes, as long as they KNOW you are not going to try to fit any stereotype. Stating that you're intelligent and have a great personality shows you've already got the confidence. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!!

I know how you feel. I'm hispanic and I have dark skin. In the summer it gets like 4 shades darker..Lol. I've always been attracted to white boys. I'm not a racist, I just happen to be more attracted to whtite boys, but like you said, I've always felt like they're more attrated to light skinned girls. So yea I can say this seems normal.

I'm a white man and I've been more attracted toward black women in general than my own kind. I have a current girlfriend who is white but I am with her more based upon personality than looks.

i myself prefer light-skinned (i am not white) guys, but i blame my parents for ingraining their racist mentality in me (i'm asian and we're supposed to strive for whiter skin). anyway, i totally see black girls who are hot as hell all the time, and even though they fall outside my conventional notions of beauty, IT DOES MAKE ME JEALOUS LIKE NO OTHER WHEN I GLIMPSE them. especially the fashion-forward girls with huge afros. i think it's so badass looking. i'm sorry about ur dilemma, i understand it though as a non-white girl myself :/ but trust me, black girls can definitely be just if not more beautiful than white.
