Is it normal that i like to wear pleather leggings?

My boyfriend really hates my pleather leggings but i really like them, is it ok that i wear them when hes not around? i also really like wearing shirts with my top button done up (im currently wearing my flatmates baggy shirt with ducks on, which i love)
should i just tell him to get over it and dress how i like in front of him? or just dress how i like when im away from him?
