Is it normal that i like to feel my bones?

I'm not a skinny girl, I'm a size 14. I feel fat and gross and revolting and like I'm not even worth the love and attention my fiance gives me. So, with my body image issues, sometimes if I roll over in bed and accidentally graze my hip bone or collar bone with my hand I'll stop and try to feel every bone I can. Ribs, collar bones, hip bones, wrists, ankles... It makes me feel smaller. I'll dig my fingers into my body to feel them even past when it starts to hurt. "If I can feel my bones then I can't be too massive" is I guess where my head goes. Is it normal to do that?

I am absolutely positive that I read a article recently berating the fashion industry for designing clothes for sizes 0 to 2, when the average size sold was a 12 to 14.

Normal but I'm sorry to say if you're size 14 USA, you're obese and not close to small.

    • You literally just said what I said above. I fucking know I'm fat, thank you. I said feeling my bones makes me feel small. Like, gives me a moment of not despising myself like I do every other second of my life.

No. I have an eating disorder, and I love to feel my bones.

Normal. I used to do the same when I used to be overweight.

Be careful with that type of behaviour. I did the exact same thing and more, when I was in the midst of my eating disorder.

    • I've actually noticed that I feel.. proud of myself? I guess is the best way to put it? When I feel hunger pains. Should I be worried about that too...? Thank you for being so open about something that can be quite difficult to talk about.

You're welcome.Eat if you feel hungry. Never starve yourself. Feeling proud of being able to feel your bones is concerning. Your goal should just be to be healthy.
