Is it normal that i like to add salt on sweet foods?

I like to sprinkle a bit of salt on some of the sweet foods I eat. Such as pancakes, waffles, donuts, muffins, cake, brownies, anything buttered. I also like to eat salty food WITH sweets. Such as chips and donuts, fries dipped in a chocolate shake. My friends think it is so crazy. But I have to remind people of things like chocolate covered pretzels and salted caramel.

I believe salt ENHANCES the sweetness of some foods.

  • Watch out with salt, don't want to end up having kidney stones.

  • Add sea salt to caramel. You'll be amazed how it enhances the flavor.

People tend to categorize food into either sweet or savoury, but in reality lots of food contains both. Many (if not most) recipes for cookies call for a pinch of salt; and tomato soup for sugar. I'd say how much we season our food is down to personal and cultural preference. In Thai cuisine sugar is commonly used in main courses.

haha, well i wouldn't say it's very normal, in terms of society lol but we all like different things, nothing is wrong with you, but i would try to slowly stop because too much could raise your cholestrol, too high or orform clots so just be conscience.:)
