Is it normal that i like so many different music genres?

I have 567 songs on my iPod. Out of those, I have 63 Michael Jackson songs, 50 Beatles songs, 30 Lady Gaga songs, 28 Carrie Underwood songs, and 6 Lil Wayne songs. In between is some heavy metal, interspersed with old country and modern pop. Most people who like old music, only like old music (The Beatles, Michael Jackson, etc). Most people who like new music, only like new music (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, etc). Some people define themselves as country fans or rock fans or pop fans or rap fans. I'm all four. Is that normal, or is my mind extremely weirdly indecisive and diverse?

    it means that you are not closed-minded like many people now-a-days. It's cool that you listen to loads of music, it means that you don't let genres keep you to a certain type of music

    Totally normal! People who listen to one type of music are just dull. If you look at my iTunes you will find Bowie, Elvis Costello, The Rat Pack, Lady Gaga, System of a Down, Coheed and Cambria, Madness, Reel Big Fish, Joni Mitchell, The Killers, Cher, Blondie, Dragonforce, Kings of Leon and the list continues for quite some time.

    I like all music except country. I even like a little opera and classical. I'm partial to old rock and alternative.never like the Beatles that much.

    theres more than 4 genres of music, most of the artists you mentioned are shit, i wouldnt call your taste in music varied at all cos its all commercial stuff, go underground!

    I'm the same way, but my music tastes are all on the electronic side. I have some super ambient stuff I love and also some crazy hardcore stuff I love just as much. It's good to have variety.
