My name is Brooke and I've known my bestfriend for about 2 years. Okay so, me and my bestfriend are really close. Sometimes he gives me hugs from behind or randomly kisses me. We both like each other. I asked about us going out with each other, but he turned me down. I immediately cried. Then I thought, what would change? Everyone already thinks we're together , and we both act like it. Like every other relationship, we have our problems. They sometimes prevent me from trusting him. Am I going through a stage? Or is this normal ?

    I know exactly how you feel I just went through this a few months ago. Essentially my best friend and I were so close and everybody wondered why we weren't together. However she turned me down because she's in a stage of her life right now where she's not ready for commitment. It hurts, but moving on is crucial.

    In relation to your story I think this is quite normal, it seems alot of people go through this. I suggest if he's already said no then you try to move on, and perhaps one day he'll realize you're the one, but don't wait for him. Try to just be there for him as a friend right now, and if you find yourself hurting too much then distance yourself a bit, but do not cut contact altogether.     Trust me...give it a bit more time my bestfriend (now my 2nd wife) and i knew eachother for 4 years untill we started dating or even hugging for that matter...just give it time.

    Yes it is normal. I am going trough this right now. Me and my frend are like so close and i know everything about him and he knows all about me. He knows some things that nobody knows. And i just wanna be with him and hug him and tell him how i feel. But i know I shouldnt 'cos i am gonna lose him that way...
