So I was in a relationship with my ex and all. . . but I got so shy I could not even talk to him.. I would avoid contact with him... I really liked him.. still do. But when I dated him I just got so shy Ehhh. He broke up with me becuase I would avoid contact with him... >-<
A girl back in high school got like this around me. Everybody kept telling me how much she liked me, it was to a CRAZY degree, too. She told one of my friends I was the reason she got up every morning.
So I figured she was shy and asked her out! She was so terrified of speaking to me, she would see me in the hall and gasp and run the other way. After a week of "going out" (heh) I was like "So... we're not really dating, are we?" and she said agreed.
It was really odd. From my side, and perhaps from the side of your ex... well, I actually liked the girl a lot and wanted to get to know her and do all the fun stuff that went along with dating, but I felt a little sad, a little snubbed, and like I had done something wrong. I was sad that we never got the chance to "date" properly.
Not sure if it helps, but that might be what he's feeling.
Well, it's all kind of relative. That whole incident was a little over 10 years ago. People change a lot over the course of a decade. I know I certainly did. If she asked me out again I would probably say yes, but it wouldn't be based on who she once was, it would be based on curiosity over who she has become and what has happened with her over the last 10 years.
You might like him so much you're afraid of what's next . You might be afraid or just scared. I've felt that way before
