Not bad past meaning used to do drugs or be in a gang or anything like that. Meaning that they were abused, bullied, parents died, something bad happened to them along those lines. Is it normal I'm attracted to guys like this?
Most of the girls I have been involved with in the past have had some trouble in their past. Essentially I'm a bit weird, and I'm therefore attracted to and attract weird girls, and the weird girls tend to have some issues, often relating to having crap happen to them over the years.
So I think it is quite normal.
Have you had a bad past yourself? It could be that you instinctively recognise mannerisms indicative of having a traumatic history in those guys, and that is appealing, maybe because you identify with them, or maybe because it intrigues you.
You may be subconsciously trying to fix them. Women often think that if they can just fix some aspect of a man he will be the right one. It's actually kind of a caring matronly thing like mothering. Of course, there are some women who were aboused by their fathers thus they identify with these abusive men and in some ways think they can make up for that by fixing this other man in their life.
I'm attracted to guys like me. I don't feel like I have to save them, I just feel like I can relate to them.
No, I didn't have a bad past as I would consider it. My dad was an alcohalic gambler and my parents were divorced, but they never hurt me in anyway, and I was treated fine in school. I think farkelu had some good points, and I am intrigued by the thought of helping and loving someone with a bad past. Thanks for all the great comments! :)
If you're a goody goody, probably normal. Opposite lifestyles can be exciting. I think thats why a lot of times good girls chase bad boys.

I am very much attracted to girls with severe depression in their past and usually present that is NOT linked to past relationships. It simply does not compare to the depression of a brilliant mind living in isolation.
I feel like I can be myself and I connect with them on a different level.
Its normal. I prefer girls like that honestly, a lot less bitchy. No offense to those who get offended. Haha
I actually agree. It's the same with guys, less arrogant.
Not trying to say I'm better than any other girls but I've had a bad past. A lot of other girls around me seem to just think they are everything and just bitchy; it's so annoying.
Plus like the OP, I've noticed I've like guys with bad pasts like that too. They normally have learning disabilities too, which I like considering I have many of them.

Yeah it's all good now. I've put my past behind me as much as possible. But it's life and I think that people that had bad pasts or learning disabilities learn to be better people anyways. Also like you said they most certainly do have more character to them. :)
