Is it normal that i like crying?

I'm pretty insensitive person. Sometimes I'm too insensitive. Last week I cried for the first time in 3 years. And I discovered that I like crying. It brings some variety to my boring life. I'm always happy and crying is unusual to me.

Is it because you feel relieved when you do? I haven't cried in a while, but every time I do I feel very relieved. So I could understand that point of view.

  • A friend of mine is like this. She enjoys pitying herself despite doing alright in life.

There is an aspect of romanticism to it; viewing yourself through the lens of tragedy. I can't say it's something I would indulge but I see why she does it.

It still smacks of pretense though. Like a writer writing their own biography before they even done anything great.

From the emotional side of view, crying is a very cathartic experience and that's usually a good thing.

From a biological point of view, I'm pretty sure it releases various endorphins to help us cope. So good there too.

Crying is a good thing usually so you aren't odd for liking it. It WOULD however be odd if you liked whatever it was that made you cry in the first place.
