Is it normal that i keep trying to lose weight?

So basically I used to be somewhat overweight 5"10 and 190 pounds, and after about a year of hard dieting and extreme workouts I managed to grow to 6" and weight about 140-145 pounds.

My ideal weight for 6" would be about 140 on the dot, but sometimes when I weigh myself I gain a few pounds. When this happens I freak out and start mass exercising/dieting until my weight drops again.

Now I know that slight daily changes in weight are normal due to water retention.etc, but I still do this anyways. Keep in mind I am in no shape or form anorexic as I eat 6 meals a day and keep weight loss methods scientific. I just do this to such a extremity each time my weight slightly shifts upwards its not allowing me to enjoy food.

P.S I'm a guy.

Is this normal?

    Too obsessed!

Keep your workout at a level that you can easily maintain. If you "mass exercise" and then stop you'll definitely gain weight. Beside your normal workout, do treadmill interval training (google it if not familiar) twice a week, it works for me.

Hey dude, I was a varsity track runner in high school and I know exactly what you're talking about. Often we would lose six pounds during practice, gain it all back in the morning, etc. You've done a great job by losing those 50 pounds. Also remember that you grew 2 inches as well (maybe it was a late growth spurt) and that you've probably put on some muscle, which could account for the extra weight (muscle's heavier than fat). As long as you exercise regularly and get those 6 meals in, don't worry about those extra few pounds because they're vital for recovery post-workout. And always remember to enjoy food. It's your fuel.

it's normal. as long as your keeping in the weight range you want then it really doesnt matter.
&& i hate the fact that weight always seems to be a factor in peoples appearance.
i believe as long as you think you look good, then your weight shouldn't bother you.

It's not normal for anyone to be to focused on one thing. What might help is only weighing yourself only when you first wake up. This way your scale doesn't fluctuate throughout the day, and you can get a more accurate depiction of your health rather than weighing yourself after every meal or something. It may even be better to weigh yourself every 2 or 3 days. I wouldn't worry much even if you gain a few pounds. It's not noticeable and stressing about it can actually make losing weight harder.
