Is it normal that i incorporate background noises in my dreams?

Is it normal that when I am sleeping, or sometimes just half asleep, when i hear a noise, like if a door slams, i'll dream of a gun shooting or something loud like that. And just random other things, like if someone is knocking on my door, I can actually see in my dream, my door shaking.. I realised this dream noise thing, cause one morning I was dreaming that someone was chasing after me with a chainsaw, and I woke up a little after and went inside, my mum was vaccuming.. Is this normal
