Is it normal that i hold my own thumb?

For my whole life, I have had a habit of holding my own thumb. I do this while walking, falling asleep, and sometimes when talking (if my hands aren't busy). Imagine making a fist, but tucking your thumb inside, this is what I do.

    I am 37 and I've done this same exact thing for as long as I can remember. I'm assuming it's a behavior carried over from infancy as I've seen babies do it too. Personally, I'm not worried about that fact that I do it.
