Is it normal that i having special feelings to a gay friend?

Im 25 years old and it really felt odd to be on this kind of situation. I met this gay friend from work, he was my officemate and I knew from the start that he is a gay. We were very close until I woke up one day realizing that my feelings for this gay friend isn't that usual 'friends' feelings, Im starting to fall for him.
I kept my distance, tried to avoid him, I dont know but as I wake up everyday this feeling gets deeper and deeper. Its really driving me crazy,

    first off, do you normally consider yourself to be straight, and are confused about these feelings, cause the first thing to do would be to come to terms with your sexuality (there is nothing wrong with being gay or bi, btw). If you already figured it out, or if your sexuality was never an issue, then i would ask yourself why are you unable to tell him your feelings. (being friends, fear of rejection, etc.) also, has he said or done anything that may show that he has feelings toward you? Once you have figured it out, i would talk to him privately about your feelings.
