Is it normal that i have trouble expressing myself?

Often, I can't think of words to express what I am thinking. Sometimes I have so much going on in my head that when I say something I come off like a complete idiot! I am young, I should be in my prime mentally, why can't I think more efficiently?

Start writing in a journal; practice self expression.

    • Yeah I think I'll try that. I always feel self-conscious when I write because I just assume someone will find it and read it. I'll have to buy a safe for it or something. Thanks!

Most people don't speak well. You could try public speaking classes that should help you present yourself better verbally.

You should paint, it's like writing in a journal, but you don't need words.

If you can't paint, just scribble and call it abstract ;)

Like Jacques-Louis David, he could hardly talk at all! He was an artistic genius!

    • I've been into art my whole life. I have had some art teachers who have kinda ruined it for me though. Maybe I'll try doing it just for myself. Thanks!

Also read a book, healthy for the brain and can help formulate thoughts alot smoother and increase vocabulary to help express yourself in many different ways depending on the book. You can learn to many, endless things with a book, not just facts and information, learning different ways of learning. Learnception.

Not only that books with imagination are way better and more surreal than any movies. Thats why alot of people say the "the book was better than the movies" all the time. Most of the time? Meh. Just my opinion.

    • I have always loved reading, and I read more than most people my age. I think I'll make an effort to read more often though, thanks for the advice!
