Is it normal that i have strange standards?

Everyone these days seems to have standards that are very similar for both sexes; good hygiene, sense of humour, loyalty etc. People seem to also have standards or even ideals with a potential partner with regards looks.

But for me, I have the strangest standards for dating according to my friends. For me, I'd like a girl who has a strong passion for music, likes making puns and can tolerate my nerdy side. Looks aren't such a focal point for me, I'm happy with an average looking girl, is this normal?

    It's normal to the tenth power! Standards are simply preferences, so none are strange. It's what YOU want in a woman, there's no guidelines of right and wrong when it comes to personal attractiveness.

    Think of it this way, it would be very backwards if you wanted a woman who lacked good hygiene.

    You heard about the guy who went to the new zoo that opened recently? He discovered that there was only one animal there. That made it a shih tzu.

    Sure, everyone has different preferences. I simply prefer a guy who is sweet and has things in common with me. Looks aren't too important, but good looks are a bonus lol

    I only have three standards. Funny, intelligent, likes animals. Everything else is optional and I do think I prefer the stranger options.

        Well, putting my logical head on, if she didn't like Homo Sapiens, she probably wouldn't like me!

        Although if I'm really excited to see someone, I do temporarily devolve into Homo Erectus. ;)

    lol well I hope you still have the standards you listed first, such as good hygiene, sense of humor and loyalty because those are pretty important! But you just have even higher standards, in a way. Because when someone says "I want a skinny blonde", well, those are a dime a dozen- pretty easy to find. It is harder to come across someone exactly like what you're looking for though.
