Is it normal that i have really bad moodswings?

I get these mood swings everyday and they are very, very intense. For example I could get a flash of anger/frustration so terrible that I would do anything to unleash it and kill it completely and i'll become a total beach. At night I can get sudden depression funks and cry myself to sleep. I know these are mood swings because they are totally irrational feelings which I cannot validate with my mind, yet I feel them in such an intensity and it really irritates me because they don't make sense. I try to control them because I don't want to do anything I regret. These mood swings include all types of emotions mainly frustration, anger and depression though, because I notice these more. Are these moodswings normal? or should I check them out?

imma female and im 18.

You should tell your doctor. My Husband has bad mood swings. He was diagnosed with Bi-polar. It is a very serious illness but can be managed with medicine. Good luck!

  • If it happens more than usual you should get checked out for bipolar disorder. If you do have it you want to catch it early before it progresses too far

Normal. I went through the same thing. Alcohol will only make it worse, so I would advise staying away from that. I hope it passes soon. :)

I agree, I wouldn't drink if you feel one of these moodswings coming on. I would find someone to talk to, a doctor will know what is going on.

Careful with sweets, get it in the form of fruit. It takes the body longer to breakdown, therefore preventing the crash. You should also watch your protein intake, try to get some with every meal. Apples and peanut (or almond) butter are one of my favorite snacks.

What's your diet like? I get this way when my blood sugar crashes. I have a bi-polar friend like this, he manages it with good food and weed.

I also get this way when I'm on my period.
