Is it normal that i have no good friends yet at my commuter college?

Ok so about four weeks ago I started college. i go to a college where literally everybody commutes. Yes, there is a residence hall but most people commute. I really wanted to get the "college experience" and dorm, but my family is in a tough financial situation right now. Anyways, I have no friends. And I'm a person who needs friends, I need someone to talk to because I always have things on my mind. But when I'm there I have NO ONE. Usually during breaks I get on a bus and go home but sometimes the break is so little it makes no sense so I buy food and sit in the library(there are little cubicles there) and eat and do homework and just surf the web on my laptop. (heehee I'm in love with my laptop I literally just got it for school, its a macbook air :p) BUT back to the point, I'm hoping that things will get better. I'm hoping I could find my bestest friend for life here or maybe even my future husband. I want to join a sport but I'm not good with sports and running because I have asthma. And I'm also hoping that some clubs would come along that I would want to join and I could meet people through there. OH and also this week did not help matters at all. I got sick and was miserable but obviously I still had to go to school and I was a complete bitch to everyone. My nose was running, I had a headache, my throat was hurting and I just didn't feel like talking to ANYONE or I would punch them. (not literally tho haha) PLEASE SOMEONE HELP OR BE MY FRIEND
Oh and also so many of my high school best friends moved away for college and that didn't help matters at all. :/ oh and so many people just go to class and then go home.
