Is it normal that i have nightmares only when i sleep on my back?

Ok, so when I happen to drift off to sleep on my back or roll over in my sleep, i have some of the most violent, scary or horrible HIGHLY DETAILED dreams (that seem to last for hours) that no horror movie can compare to.

Why does this happen? Usually, as i sleep on my stomach, my dreams are pleasent, but if through the night i shift and roll on my back, they turn EVIL

Im a non drinker, non smoker (of anything) and have a very stress free life, with a good job, $, friends, family.

I think I know why this happens. When we sleep on our backs in causes the tongue to fall backwards cutting off the flow of oxygen. Lack of oxygen can cause numerous problems for the brain which is probably one of the reasons many people experience sleep paralysis while on their backs.
