Is it normal that i have insomnia?

Okay, guys. I've had chronic insomnia for a year and a half (I've been to a physician and have a clean bill of health). I wake up too early every day (I can fall asleep no problem). No particular reason (I do not have sleep apnea, or an overactive bladder, or anything like that). It varies depending on factors which I do not understand. On a bad day, I wake up at 4:30. I never go back to sleep if I've woken up after midnight. I go to bed consistently at 11:00p.m. I used to go to bed earlier (8:30p.m..... yes, really), but my doc said to push it back a few hours. I never noticed a difference in my fatigue when changing my bedtime, or anything else I've done to try and help (drinking green tea, eating almonds, fruit, making smoothies, staying away from caffeine, salt, and refined sugar, yoga before bed, eating quinoa and other superfoods, getting regular exercise like biking. These things aren't fads, either: I've been doing all this for months). I have tried to find a pattern (I mark on a scale of 1-5 on my calendar how tired I am) but there doesn't seem to be one. Here's the kicker: I'm fourteen (female). I'm not asking you to diagnose me, because even the doctor has no clue what's wrong with me. What I want to know is, does anyone else have this? I hope if someone else has the same problem and Googles it, that they find this page and know they're not alone.

Get a flannel and rinse it with cold water and then lie in bed and put it on you forehead. Lie in bed with a lamp on for 10 minutes then turn the lamp off and lie for another 10 minutes with the wet flannel on your head.

The coldness cools the blood to your brain and relaxed your and slows down your thoughts and this should help you fall to sleep. other methods mat be less affected.
but this was tested on insomniacs and most feel asleep after 25 minutes

Me: Go to bed at 9
    Fall asleep at 11-12
    Wake up periodically throughout night
Fully wake up at about 6:30.

Same as this guy^. If I went to sleep before midnight, i'd wake up at three. Got to a point in my life where i ran off of three hours of sleep a day, and it worked. Ended up moving in with my dad, and the constant grueling farm work helped somewhat, but not much. The older I got, the better it got though, and stress does make it worse. Weed helps, if you're not an anti-pot person.

I have the same issue. When I was in middle school it was really bad. I only ended up getting four hours od sleep a night. Now that I'm sixteen, it's gotten better. The sleep issues for me are mainly due to stress. What helps me is to listen to yoga music while relaxing in bed before I go to sleep. I lay on my back with my arms by my sides, and focus on relaxing every part of my body. Iy usually helps me get to sleep. You can also try getting a prescription for melanin. Their sleeping pills, but are non-addictive with almost no side effects. They helped me sleep through the night.

  • I don't know many adults who sleep well through the night on a regular basis. I think most people tend to have bouts of insomnia.

You are only 14 years old and this is a website for people 18 years or older.

    • I'm aware of that. But I'm using the site for its intended purpose and asking a legitimate question.
