Is it normal that i have flying dreams?

I have flying dreams infrequently. They always end with me falling, and they always take place in a land where everything is comically big.(Giant roller coasters, marble tables and chairs the size and appearance of the Parthenon, giant Skeletons on the side of cliffs so big you can't see the bottom)

  • Dreams. The enigmatic part of the human psyche. The human being isn't simply his hands, his body, or these eyes. He goes beyond that.

The physical senses were put in place not to satisfy the needs of the body, but rather the soul. Dreams are the expression of our soul. It's tragedy.

You have everything. And so much of it.

I can't say whether it's normal or not. I can only say that I have dreams like that too. I have a recurring one where I'm riding a bicycle down a very steep road and picking up lots of speed. Then, for whatever reason, I end up riding off a cliff and usually wake up with that horrible falling sensation.

According to dream books I've read, flying dreams are very common. I've had numerous flying dreams myself.

  • I've had a dream like that once. I dreamt I was super man, however I was actually losing my ability of flight slowly as my acension became less and less. It was a really depressig dream. I wonder what it meant.

I often dream of swimming through the air about two to three feet above the ground. And this morning I dreamt that there were several series of staircases and I would jump over the railing and sort of hover and land gracefully, also I will jump lightly and go great heights and distances. It always feels so good when I do this in dreams, I can feel wind against my face and body.

I have dreams like those, but I have to run and jump, and then I fly! But it usually is in my backyard and I only get about 10 feet high...still fun to have those dreams :)

The clue might be in the name. One of the three words of the site you are currently on is "normal".

      • yes but that one word has a completely different meaning when it has "isIt" before it

what im saying is why do people post stupid anoying stories that they know are normal and none of the questions that are kinda wierd and hard to figure if its normal never come around instead you get questions like

        "IIN That i love someone"

now be right back im going to go submit a story called
"IIN that i like blue jeans but like black ones more"
because thats the anoying type of shit thats getting posted now in this site.

True enough. The "is it" kind of reverses the meaning of the word "normal".

The way I see it, though, we're born knowing nothing and everything must be learned. Even whether something is normal or not. With something like dreams, it's not easy to learn by observation because we never get to see someone else's dreams. We can only learn by asking, and that's exactly what the poster is doing.

Completely agree with you about some of the questions, though. Also, I think some people post obvious things just to boast rather than worry if it's normal or not.
