Is it normal that i have dreams that cannot be illustrated?

I don't remember my dreams very often but when I do, they are so strange. Many of them are very hard to describe and if I had a computer that could create any image or video, it still would be impossible to correctly display my dreams because there are things in them that I see that are impossible to recreate in real life or for other peoples' eyes. None of this may make any sense but the closest parallel I can think of is like how people with certain types of synaesthesia(including me) "see" colours and textures when they see certain letters and numbers or hear sounds and while you don't literally see the colours or the letters in those colours, they are still there and you "see" them in your head. There are also absences in vision which is not the same as blocking out part of an image in which case you can't just recreate it. It's something that only exists in the mind.

I'm not surprised, the astral is a weird place.

I dreamt I was beating an aligator to death with a flashlight.

*lights a cigar and puts on a a fake beard*

I think the flashlight symbolizes truth and the alligator symbolizes the malevolent forces within your life. So essentially the light of truth is laying waste to the evil in your life.

          Was I close?

Ahh yes, ze interwebs says ze gator symbolizes treachery, deceit und hidden instincts, und also ze transition from conscious to subconscious. May also suggest being thick skinned or insensitive. Ze fleshlight, pardon me, flashlight, iz zaying perhaps you are questioning certain issues about yourself, trying to shed light on your deeper thoughts und/or subconscious feelings. Und also sudden awareness und insight.

Birdy says: gators lurk in the darky murk, they're mean and they bite.
Being a cat, your better than that, so flash 'em with your light.

I had a dream where people's thoughts started coming out of their heads and tried to take over the world.

Though nothing of that sort has happened to me, I do know that dreams are just the subconscious mind creating random nonsense out of sensible memories to keep itself busy. Usually this involves putting the person dreaming in a strange (sometimes amusing, sometimes frightening) scenario, though in some cases dreams can just be random sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and feelings from your past. In short, it is normal.
