Is it normal that i have dreams of my father killing me?

Last night I was dreaming. I was living in a little house in the middle of no where with my Grandmother, Mama, Dad, and my dog. My dad told me to come outside and I followed him outside. I saw this huge machete on the side of his pants and he told me he would do whatever it took to kill me. Then he turns to my dog and said kill her!!! My dog suddenly got huge red eyes and started jumping up all this way to my neck. I ran back inside and told my mom that my dad and my dog were trying to kill me. She just looked at me and my dog started jumping at my neck again. I put both my hands around it's neck as if I were choking him and threw him as hard as I could to the ground. My grandmother started crying and by that point I was screaming at my mom to believe me. She told me to stop hurting the dog and this countinued until I woke up. What is this supposed to mean??
