It's not the knife you should be scared of, it's the person who's holding it

I have a desire for knives- not phobia, lol- I am the opposite.
I think this phobia might be triggered by insecurity- that the knife will attack you because of some mishap caused by you or someone else.
For example, whenever I am in a wine bottle isle at a store- I feel as if I will bump into a shelf and cause them to fall. This could be due to the fact that I don't trust how they are stocked.
As to it being normal, it's not normal to me.

I know how you feel, I can't say or hear the word of my phobia because it scares me. It causes a physiological reaction. So I know why you say "knoves" because it is enough to not trigger as much of a reaction of fear since it is misspelled. Anyone who thumbs-downs your comment doesn't understand how serious you are.

It isn't a phobia if its rational. And being nervous around something which could stab and kill you sounds rational to me.

I have a phobia, but not of knives. Even the word of my phobia freaks me out. I yell out loud if I see something remotely similar to my phobia. So this is perfectly normal for a phobia. I as a very smart person have spent years trying to figure out just how a phobia is possible. One of the only conclusions I have come to is that it is possible that it's a way for our mind to vent our fears or maybe pain into something with an outlet for expression. A phobia is an "irrational" fear. It makes no sense why it is a fear, yet it is an extreme fear nonetheless. It is not necessarily based on past experiences.
