Is it normal that i have an attraction to my best friend?

Me and my friend have been the best of friends for years now. Always hanging out whenevr its possible. Lately things have been getting odd. I feel like we flirt, and I don't know if that's the case or not. Let me add that we are both girls, and I've never had feelings towards a girl. I don't know if I'm getting the feelings of a friend mixed up with romantic feelings, or what's going on. I mean, I'm strangely turned on by her, and that definitely weirds me out. I don't know?

Flirting is a natural and necessary social interation which lets you assess how attractive you are to the opposite sex and helps to improve your self esteem if pulled off successfully. With a boy, this would be 110%% natural, but with a girl, whether you want it or not, you may in fact be gay. Or have gay tendancies; there is an online test you can take which will assess how gay or straight you are -http://www.youthnetsouthampton.org.uk/breakout/kleingrid.php.

Friends are in fact one of the most likely people you are to flirt with. They're safe, you know you'll still be friends and if you've already formed quite a bond then it makes the flirting even more enjoyable. If you don't have any real objection to being a lesbian, then why not go for it? If you're having doubts about what your sexuality is then you obviously need to sort it out and the only way to do this is by seeing if it "feels right" with a girl or with a boy. At least you know it'll be with someone you can trust. If it doesn't work out, then you know you're not entirely a lesbian.

    I hope everthing works out! : )

also flirting between close freinds and girls isnt nescarrly sexuelly somtimes freinds have a habit of doing this jokingly or playfully but not anything thatll lead to sex . Example : April :Tiffany you have the cutest butt ". Tiffany : Oh shut up April you are so wierd " . April : Oh come on I want it I swear its so big and sqeezable " . ( Also yes I hear women talk like this so this isnt a big strech but its an example ) . Also you see simalar behavior like this amongst family like brothers and sisters were they will do things like sit on each others or kick each other in the butts . This doesnt nescarrly mean anything but since they are comfortable together they dont feel wieard doing wierd krap with each other that to others in other other circumstance may be flirty .

Depends on the energy they portray flirting. It's all about tone of voice and demeanor

  • I have this same thing! It got really bad up to the point where I wanted to kiss her! (she's bi) and then she started making out with everyone of my girlfriends exapt me (because we're best friends and she didn't want to ruin out friendship) but I got really upset because I was the one who wanted to in the first place. After that I wasn't as attracted to her anymore. But you should try something! She's probably in the same boat as you!
