Is it normal that i have a very wide hair part?

I have dark, coarse, thick and naturally curly hair. My hair parts naturally in the middle but the part itself is quite wide and makes it look like I'm starting to bald. I'm only 21 and noticed the problem even in high school. I'm female and as far as I know nobody in my family has balding. My Mum's hair has thinned out quite a bit but she is almost 50 and has trichotillamania (a habit of pulling out her own hair, usually one strand at a time) from stress.

When I go to the hairdresser's they know how to style my part so that it covers up the widest section and it looks nice afterwards. I can't seem to get it to look that way when I try it myself. In mirrors, photos and videos you can see how obvious my part is and I feel envious of other girls who have perfect partings that make their hair look so much better.

It doesn't seem to be much of a deal but looking at it from an aesthetic point of view, it's distracting and makes me hair look weird.
