Is it normal that i have a sharp pain on my right side? (female)

Hello im 21 years old and as of a week ago I randomly had a strong pain in my left overie area. I woke in tears after I tried to sleep it away with tylonal at 2:30 am. I went to the restroom and was immediately relieved of pain once I did a #2. it was a lil sore but not near as painful.

Today it's back but on the other side. I can describe it as being a knife wrenching pain. Goes steady then fades after time but comes back if I stand or move.
Tried relieving myself and havnt been able to rid the pain. What are your suggestions? I'm going to the doc soon if it keeps up!

It's a bursting cyst. The same thing happened to me. Go to the doctors and tell them how u feel and they'll tell u what to do.

Did see the doc that day. Just posted this to see what answers I had for that time being. (waiting rooms, grr)

Just ovulation. Says I was ovulating 2 eggs so that's the reason for pain. I thought a cyst since it's common n my family.

  • Is there a doctor in the house?

You might have an ovarian cyst or bowel problem.

The doctor id obviously where you need to ask, not here.

Go to the doctor. Or you could just call your family doctor and see if its worth the trip.

How about listen to your doctor more than anyone else. Common fucking sense, people, wow.

Sounds like cysts to me, and more than one if you have pain like this on both sides. I've had moderate to severe pain from cysts. Lots of cysts can indicate PCOS. I don't know much about fibroids, but they might be a possibility. Could be ovulation (that's worse than menstrual cramps for me) but that is pretty obvious if you have a regular cycle and the pain happens about two weeks before your period. Pregnancy can cause cramping early on, but that doesn't sound like what you are describing. Hope you see a doc and figure out what it is.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Does it feel like someone boiled the knife first? It could be a cyst. Keep your digestive track healthy with lots of fiber. The ovaries are smooshed (yes, this is a technical term)between your intestines and a sluggish digestive track will irritate it.

The only immediate thing you can do to relieve pain is take otc meds. I recommend Ibprofen or Naproxen rather than Tylenol. And never underestimate the power of a cup of chamomile tea and a hot bath. And keep active, blood flow is necessary to pass whatever it is that is causing the pain.

The doctor will likely send you for an ultrasound to get a closer look. 95% of the time a cyst causes no problems (other than a little pain) and your body will pass it naturally.

You don't want to rely on pain meds for more than a few days as your liver will become overworked and cause other health issues.
