Is it normal that i have a crush on a girl who's 28 even though i'm 19

I'm a 19 year old Northern Irish lad from Belfast going to College in America. Anyway everything at Uni is going fine but, there's this girl that I really like from work, but I only found out recently while texting her that she's around 27/28.

Cutting to the chase, I really like her, I now get butterflies when I think of her or see her, but at the same time I have 2 questions?
How do I ask her out? (I'm thinking about asking her out to see Star Wars: Rogue One when it comes out in December)
But most importantly, is it odd for someone my age to end up being smitten for someone her age?

Anyways, thanks for having the time to read my little story and I look forward to hearing your answers.

It's not unheard of. But usually someone that age has a very different life style from a teenager. It might not be compatible, but who knows, can't hurt to ask, can it.
    Wish you luck.

      Thank You :P
Yeah right now I'm getting my way through Uni taking advantage of everyone situation I can, so that's probably a start.

Either way, knowing how I always let my heart go ahead of my head, I'm probably going to ask her out one way or another lol

Go for it! Age is as much mental as physical. Some people look, act, and feel younger than they really are. The thing about getting older is that inside we are the same person, however what society expects from us in terms of responsibilities sometimes changes our attitudes. I know from personal experience that the 20s really flies by, so I think she would be quite flattered to find out your affections.

Totally normal. And I agree with Jesus, don't wait until December...Jesus!
That age dynamic just seems to assert itself for some people. It's happened to me a few times - exactly the same gender/age difference as yours. At 19, I know the difference seems big, but it really isn't, and it feels smaller the older you get.

Sounds like you had assumed she was closer to your age, so obviously the difference is only in numbers, you know what I mean?
Be prepared though, if anything happens it's more likely to be closer to a fling than a long-term thing. And I'd be more worried about the fact that you work together.
But, she's also probably more mature than younger girls so, none of that might be a problem. Good luck, anyway!

And as always, try not to put your feelings too much on the line. Be prepared to confidently accept a rejection, if it happens, cos there's always a chance it might - not trying to jinx you or anything.
And don't mention the age thing either. No need to bring it up.

Absolutely! Plus, you've got the 'away' advantage and the Irish charm, who could resist?
        Bless!

Oh yeah the whole age thing, I've had people tell me that I look older than I really am (I look around my 20's) especially when my hair is cut short

Haha I suppose that could give me an edge yes? It's kind of a Portadown accent :)

            Oh absolutely, it always helps!
And you look older as well, there you go. Things like this are only an issue if someone makes them an issue, imo.
Play it cool, see how it goes I spose.

Chat with her over time, find out what movies she likes and if she likes Star Wars, just ask her if she's looking forward to seeing the new one. If she is, tell her you are too and ask if she'd like to see it with you.

The age difference is irrelevant to you if you're attracted to her, but be prepared for her to think it's an issue.
