Is it normal that i have 4 cavities?

I neglected to go to the dentist for 2 years. I just kept forgetting to make an appointment. Finally went back and bam, 4 cavities even though I brush 3x and floss 2x a day. I'm 25. Is this normal? I'm humiliated. I'm afraid I'll have an ugly mouth full of silver. I've never had a cavity before.

    You can choose to get it done with porcelain. It will be white and will barely show that you had a cavity.

    or, in my neck of the woods diamonds are fairly popular to use for crowns.
    "diamonds on my neck, d-diamonds on my grill!"
