Is it normal that i hate when hot drinks are overly hot?

I like hot chocolate and certain coffees, but most are too hot for me. People will say they're not hot but to me they scald my mouth and burn my tongue. I always wait for about 5 to 10 minutes until I can drink it. Is this normal?

    • Good advice, except I can drink it once it's cooled down as I already mentioned in my post, dumbass. If I didn't like drinking them at all I obviously wouldn't waste my money on them now would I?

But what is so difficult to figure out that you'd make a post about it?

        • It wasn't so much that I felt this behavior was abnormal or weird or that I didn't understand it; I just wanted to see if anyone else is the same.

I like my hot drink to be overly hot. My coffee has to be steaming hot. Hot enough to burn my tongue. That's the way I like it.

Hot enough to sue when you deliberately spill it on yourself? Hopefully you're not that way, some people are.

Hyposensitivity is a symptom of intoxication. Have you been drinking?

Coffee is not good unless you lose multiple layers of skin off the roof of your mouth.

They're not called hot drinks for no reason.

"Overly hot" is bad by definition, but if you find this happens very frequently, it might say more about you than the coffee.

Exactly. It's more my preference. My mom when I was little would make me hot chocolate to what she perceived as normal in temperature and I had to put ice cubes in it or I wouldn't drink it because it hurt my mouth.

I don't like drinks that are too hot.

I can tolerate really hot drinks (and food). But many of the time (even if I CAN handle hot drinks) it automatically ruins the flavor.

I usually let mine cool a wee bit. Dunkin donuts coffee is insanely hot!! Wtf?!!? I only get their coffee if I'm gonna need it to stay hot for a long time.
