Is it normal that i hate the word fuck?

It doesn't bother me when I hear people use it as an adjective or anything. I hate when people say that they fucked somebody. I feel like it makes the entire view of sex seem disgusting, dirty, and wrong when it shouldn't be that way. When people say that, I get so angry, but it doesn't bother me when I hear it any other time. Is that normal?

I like it in a lackadaisical way. If it sounds casual, not aggressive.

To me, 'Fuck' (in the context you hate) sounds horrible, demeaning, or even rape-y --IF-- used aggressively. "I want to fuck that person" "I fucked that person." Those sound terrible.

On the other hand, it could also describe a type of sex. Some people like it rough. To describe this kind of sex as making love would sound... too soft? The word 'Sex' is too bland. Fuck sounds to the point.

One final thing I can think of. I believe its also more acceptable in a pairing, such as: "We fucked" as opposed to (again) "I fucked that person.

That's all I can offer. Hope it was an interesting read at least. :P

Except that you're talking about the correct usage of the word.

It's like the word "shit". you can use it to mean "stuff" or "bad stuff" but... it's correct usage is to refer to feces.

Kinda like someone saying, "Shit, I just stepped in dog poo".

    • I know that's the original meaning, but people use it mostly for other things now, so I don't really think that it's "correct" or incorrect.

    Fuck yeah!

    Sorry, couldn't help myself :P

I think it's normal though in the context that you are describing.

Actually it's not really a curse word when it's used in the original way

I think it's totally normal. Especially nowadays, fuck has taken a negative (dirty) connotation when it comes to sex. Whenever I hear that term around, it basically means "I used (fucked) her." Fucking someone and making love with someone doesn't have the same meaning. At least to me, and that's what the media portrays.

    • Exactly. I don't want guys going around saying that they fucked me. It would make me feel like a whore. I'm sure there are guys who don't want girls to say they fucked them either. I don't see how it's no big deal for people to just throw it around like that.

I agree! There are passionate ways to say it. Why can't people say "we made love" or "let's become one"?

    "Let's Fuck/we fucked last night"
There's something gross and not classy about it. I've heard it on places like tumblr and at first I was upset, but now I've learned to deal with it. Where's all the romance gone?

    I find it normal.
I think the word "Fuck" is emotionless; has no care; only did it because you can; heartless; mean.

But to add, i hate it when people constantly swear in every sentence.

Yeah,it's pretty rotten. Unfortunately our culture has accepted this more and more and it gets reinforced to younger generations. I wonder if more young people are using others in this way than they did 20 or 30 years ago or these types of people just hid it well in the past.
