Is it normal that i hate the sound of "shhh"?

I absolutely hate when people say shh! Not just cause they're telling you or someone to be quiet or anything.. It's just that I hate the sound of it!!! Especially when people say it all loud and obnoxiously! Its just simply annoying... IIN?

    OH MY GOD. When someone like, screams SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH in your face, I want to scream and slap them.

    I literally just told my wife this yesterday! When someone says "shh" to me I talk LOUDER! EWW I hate that sound.

    Yeah, I dislike it for both reasons. It's annoying to hear and people think that by saying it they have some sort of leash on you. About ten people shh'd at once in my Psychology class of 150+ students. My first thoughts were:

    1) This isn't grade school, middle school, nor high school.

    2) I can't believe people still do this in college.

    3) Who the hell do you think you are? I never liked the teachers pet.

    4) This is so freaking annoying I can't help but laugh at it to remain at ease throughout the remainder of the lecture.

    Overall, I really just wanted to cut their tongues out. Seems normal to me.

    You must hear it a lot (whether it's because of you or someone you are around a lot who is noisy) for it to bother you that much. It is the reason, that it is an unpleasant sound, that people use it to correct other peoples' inconsiderate behavior. It's like how Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisperer) uses a strong "ttssscht" noise to correct the unwanted behavior in the dogs he is training.

      It actually is rarely used towards me, but often times towards people around me. I hate the sound of that noise. It is equivalent of tasing me. My muscles tense up and I want to drive a screwdriver through my ears.
