Is it normal that i hate the sound of a pencil on paper?

Ever since I can remember I have hated the sound of a pencil on paper and the sound of paper ripping. It's hard for me to be in the classroom during tests and when we had written essays. Is it normal? Any ideas about how to deal/cope with this? Please Help!

    I actually have a phobia of wooden pencils because of the noises they make and how it transmits to your fingers. This is perfectly normal.

    I myself actually love the sound of pencils on paper! Maybe you can wear Ear Plugs during exams? I know it sounds silly but it's worth a try!
