Is it normal that i hate the idea of love and relationships?

The whole idea makes no sense me. You lower your guard around another person and make sacrifices for them that could be used to benefit yourself. For example, a large portion of your time becomes dedicated to trivial talk and dates with your significant other. I don't get what the purpose is outside of sex. Also people say that relationships inevitably have bad times and I don't understand why someone would want to put themselves into a situation that is guaranteed to go wrong.

The whole thing seems like a giant waste of time with no benefits except for sex.

    If you are really in love with someone, you actually WANT to spend a lot of time and money on dates with them, you WANT to make sacrifices for them; because you want them to be happy, not because you are buying sex.

    If you just haven't found that person, maybe one day you will, and you'll change your mind.

    I think the problem with most relationships is that a lot of people have a gf/bf because they're afraid of being alone. either that, or they want to fit in with their friends. Nowadays people suspect you to find the love of your life before you're even 20.

    See the thing with love is, that it's a lot like the flu. When someone gets ill for the first time, he immediately thinks he's got the flu, even though it's just a cold. the problem is they only realize this once they actually get the flu, but by that time they're already married to some doofus.

    I'm glad you're critical about the subject, but don't get too pessimistic. If you ever meet someone you like, you'll think differently about it. But for now, try to find out what you want.

    if it's a good relationship there are emotional benefits, such as someone who is always there to comfort you, someone who will make sacrifices for you. Some people don't need that and that's fine, but some people do and thats why they are in relationships

    I don't much care for the idea either. Some people are meant to be with another person, some aren't. That's life. Nevertheless, it's normal to not like the idea.
