Is it normal that i hate screamo music?

Screamo. Definition: Emos screaming. Last time I checked nobody likes emos especially when theyre screaming. Perfectly Normal. Once I accidently clicked on a brokencyde video on youtube. I wanted to hurt sound.

Its not an obligation. You can like whatever music you like. I personally hate Screamo too. Cannot stand. Its irritating. =)

I PERSONALLY think that Screamo bands are so pointless as well , there are a lot of other form of rock that have good lyrics and beats , Metal is good and they scream sometimes but like you said there is harmony in the song and not only a loud mouth singer making it impossible to hear the beat or understand what the song is saying.

I must've just read at least two comments that said they like meaningless screaming where they can't understand what's being said. There is one thing you are all forgetting, it isn't music music has tempo, rhythm, time, and beat. This shit only has two of the four required aspects of music, tempo & beat. Therefore, not music. Also one must understand music. The comments here have admitted it is not understandable. Not music. So now that we have established that what you "listen" to is not music, your question is nullified. Please resubmit in 90 days for further rejection. Have a nice day

Personally I'm into screamo, but I have nothing against people who say they don't like it or don't get it because everyone has their own tastes and who am I to say what you should or shouldn't like. On the other hand I think creating music on any level takes talent so to call it talentless is a little harsh.

Lordi isn't death metal, Lordi's hard rock. Lordi look like they're death metal because they wear monster costumes, but they're just theatrics.

For one, death metal and screamo are entirely different genres. Im baffled to hear the misconceptions people have about extreme metal and I suppose it separates those who listen to it and those who merely hear it.
Death metal, just like the majority of metal subgenres, was inspired by the Maiden/Priest musicianship qualities with the sheer ferocity of punk and thrash (ie Metallica, Megadeth).
Of course, most are repulsed by the stereotypical 'satanic' and over the top natures of what they think extreme metal is but they couldnt be more wrong. Bands like Atheist, Death, Carcass, At the Gates, In Flames, etc, are constantly hated upon because people hear notorious acts like Cannibal Corpse, Nile or Napalm Death and assume every band sounds the same. You may be surprised at the musical integrity and talent on offer if you only overlooked the initial hesitance.
It would be the equivalent of me listening to Eiffel 65's Blue (Da Ba Dee) and judging all dance music as being the same.
Obviously death metal isnt for everyone and it is a heavy form of music but it has artistic merit and pointful attributes.
Also to PDK79, I defy you to name a death metal song that does not fit your criteria. You wont find a single one

I can't say if I've ever heard it but it sounds awful .
I don't like most bands like Metallica but I like ACDC.

Bands like nirvana only scream in some songs and are still understandable. But the crazy screaming bands are liked because of the image they sell
