Is it normal that i hate screamo music?
...I just don't see the point in it. I really don't. To me, it sounds like it has no tune; it's roaring along to instruments that are played so heavily that its like an earthquake.
And yet, for some reason, I really don't know - screamo is compared to be "as good" as bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Status Quo and Iron Maiden - bands that are heavy rock, but have tunes. In their music you can hear notes being played and lyrics that you can hear instead of a loud, manic growl. Why is this? Why is screamo, as well as its variants such as death metal and hardcore, considered to be as good to listen to as the most famous of rock groups? There's such a big difference between heavy metal and sreamo in my book. How can screamo take talent?
I'm sorry, but I find screamo unbearable. It's really irritating to like certain music, but be expected to like others. I was chatting to somebody on YouTube who's into Whitesnake, and he also mentioned "I like Korn and Lordi, do you" and I answered "no" and he said "Why? It's just as good, it's badass, everyone likes it."
But I really don't want to become a fan of screamo/death metal. I like so many different things but screamo just doesn't sound good to me. Is this normal?
