Whenever I see someone smoking I get so mad! They are just wasting their time and money on stupid cigarettes! If I walk by someone who is smoking I cough real loud and give them the evil eye lol. Sorry if I offended anyone!

i agree to some extent of your views. smoking is bad and unhealthy and stupid.
although, stereotyping smokers as looking poor is dumb and imature.
my uncle has been smoking for over 20 years now. he spends around $5000 dollars on the crap each year. he lives in a pretty bad area and has a horrible job and is pretty much going nowhere in life.
if he didn't smoke, he would have saved $100 00 to get a better job move somehere else etc.
so please someone tell me smoking isn't bad for you in any way, let's see how many people say so.
but, the decrease in poplulation can help with the overpopulation crisis SO KEEP IT UP SMOKIES;D

What's my personal opinion about smokers?
I say we gather up all of the smokers on the planet (who love to light up around others), ship them off to an island thousands and thousands of miles from civilization, and have the government supplement them with all of the cigarettes they desire. Hell, let them create a mushroom cloud with that crap. Then, after they fall ill to various types of cancers and/or cancer related diseases, they can make some PSAs about Social Darwinism and how they played their self.
We'll christen it, "Smokie Island" with the Marlboro Man lighting up and smoking the first puff.
I don't look poor and I don't smell unless I just got done smoking a cigarette so those are NOT facts. And when I light up, if people don't like it, then they can move. I know the effects of smoking but everyone in my family smokes. They look amazing and they are healthy. Some people can smoke and never have side effects.
Is it obvious only to me, that everyone on here who have had the funniest comments are smokers? Non-smokers get so bent out of shape, don't they? I know plenty of non-smokers who choose to sit in the smoking areas because that's where all the laughing is. Non-smoking is the New Puritanism. Ech.
You talk as if they are the only ones waisting money. If you decide to get a cheeseburger instead of eating canned food that is waisting money too. You will still survive on that cheap canned food and only bought the burger because you like the taste. The fact is you have waisted money on things you dont need just as much as smokers have.
Oh and you coughing dramatically into the air is so much healthier for the people around that have to inhale your germs. I see how you made such a valid point of how your actions are better than those who smoke. (note sarcasm). Grow up and focus on how you can be less dramatic and judgmental of others. Everyone has an unhealthy vice of some sort. No one is perfect. Believe it or not, just because you aren't a smoker, doesn't mean your actions/choices don't negatively affect others as well.
Every time I go out for a smoke today I am going to smoke two...one just for you. =)

Hey, I might smoke but I certainly am not poor nor do I let myself look a mess. Just because someone smokes doesn't mean they don't do their hair, dress nicely or wear make up.
Sure, smoking isn't the best decision I could have made in life but I know the risks and am prepared to hear the worst if I ever have to.
Why not just mind your own business? It's not your business what anyone else spends their time and money on.

I smoke cigarettes but i always try to be respectful of others around me like if im at the bus stop ill move as far away as possible from the bus stop i even stand by the curb when i smoke, but hey it's my life so it's my business.. the evil eye & cough doesn't work for me nor other smokers, so just be happy that you haven't picked up the habit...
I also hate smoking..period.I dont fucking care on what smokers will comment on this coz i said "smoking" not "smoker". my bf has a smokng problem too and recently we've been fighting because of that,he said that he's on a stage where he wants to give up smoking, I love him thats why i want to help him.im not smoking so i dont understand a smoke. I hate smoking simply because of it smell.
I kind of agree with what ur saying, I don't like smokers. But I don't butt into their personal lives, I let them make their own choices and leave it at that. I don't make any "coughing noises or give an evil eye, I simply hold my breath until I've passed them.
Where I live, we aren't allowed to smoke in restaurants. And I highly doubt I'm going to hang out outside of a restaurant for fun.
I dislike smokers too.. like i hate the fact that they pay so much money on these cancer stick and be complaining on how they can't afford the rent or some shit. Come on, you smoke 1-2 packs of cigs. a day, just quit smoking and maybe you'll save alot more money. Everybody freakin smokes and its annoying! Breath be all funky, and their clothes smell like smoke, weed, or what ever drug they do.
They just made the university where I work nonsmoking, and everytime some douche college kid tells me I shouldn't be smoking I casually say "suck my dick" and inhale deeply.
...I always laugh at my hilaaaarity afterwards.
Regarding Certain Individuals Ganging Up On "cll266":
Some people "know" smoking is bad for them and do it anyway... Some people are "wholly deluded" and they think they are bullet proof to the effects of smoking... Everyone that smokes makes a rather poor choice for their self and for those who are unfortunate enough to be around them when they do it.
Calling people idiots, wastes, morons, fools,trolls, and what not, for speaking "the facts" filtered through their point of view, is not helpful.
What? You want EVERYONE to agree with you and then you are happy? Get real. If everyone always agreed with each other on IIN, a lot of people would be bored to tears. Diversity is the spice of life. If you passionately believe a stupid thing like smoking is harmless, then allow others a passionate belief that it is not. And, too,"cll266" may have expressed him/herself in an angry manner b/c they have personally experienced someone in their life being harmed by a smoking addiction.
I know smoking is bad for me. I smoke anyway. So? Why is it anyone else's problem? I'm not asking you or anyone else to join in or inhale my 2nd hand smoke. I don't see why it would cause concern if I don't do it around anyone else who doesn't smoke. You get real. People smoke. You and people like you need to get over it.

Do you bite your nails? How would you feel if someone made a gaging sound when they saw you doing so? Smoking is a habit just like nail biting.

I have no problem with smokers who are NOT smoking around others. They can stay put. I am talking about the obnoxious bastards and beyotches who don't care WHO they are effecting with their smoking. Smokie Island would be their penalty. And, I would say: Good riddance to bad rubbish!
The island would be a full-on resort akin to Fantasy Island. They would have plenty to eat and to do and they would not be lacking in any of the conveniences of modern society. They would also be required to work telecommuting jobs and island jobs to continue to contribute to the global economy. Everything would be provided for them including hospitals, hospices,Nicotine patches and counseling. They could even visit people on the mainland if they observed non-smoking guidelines. And, if they wanted to return to mainstream society, they could go through a parole board hearing to have the matter decided upon. They would have to agree, however, to never smoke around others again in life, though. If they did it again, they would be returned to Smokie Island for a life sentence.
Let these assholes deal with this nasty habit's poetic justice by causing AND being the victims of it. They can sit around on Smokie Island and chain smoke with the other smokers and laugh and laugh (and cough) about the stupid people who sent them to this island. I dare say, however, that they would not have the respiratory vigor to execute a successful escape!
