Is it normal that i hate peas since i was a kid and do grown up?

Since I was a kid I could not stand that icky taste of putrid bitter moldy socks peas. I would hide them under plates and in the air vents. Even now I can't stand to look at peas or smell them? They are just too Gross for me!

    Peas taste awesome.

But I do understand... I personally HATE cooked carrots. They use to make me gag. Even now I refuse to eat them as a side dish. Inside something else like soup or stew is OK but a dish of only cooked carrots?... i'll take a plate of peas thanks.

    =)

My husband hates peas. I dislike cooked cabbage. Unless its in a stew, its just nasty.

Kimchi with cabbage makes me feel nauseated.

Oh my gosh I tasted the worst kimchi from the grocery store. It tasted like cabbage and water with no flavoring. I totally understand.

Guh. My sister loves kimchi and one time she opened up a jar of the nasty stuff and ate it in front of me while we were watching a movie. I had to remove myself from the premises until she was finished. Foul.

I hate them too, but for me it's not the smell!

  • Is it normal that people have different tastes and likes? That's basically what you are asking. And it's normal.

I can eat ketchup, baked beans in tomato sauce, pizza but I cannot eat a raw tomato. Makes me feel ill. My brother can't stand eggs in any form.

By the way read the title of this topic, "Is it normal that I hated peas as a kid and hate it now grown up?" This is not asking is it normal that I love peas now that I am not a kid anymore. I was not asking different tastes and dislikes as you said. That was the mixup. I forgot to add is that most grownups around me(my family) acquired a taste for it later on. I always thought it was strange I never did.I'm glad some people still do.

I advise you to stop eating rotten vegetables, first and foremost. They're bad for your health.

Second, be aware that all things come in various preparations and styles. So it's entirely possible that you just haven't found peas cooked in a way that's pleasant to you. Be aware, however, of the fact that you can develop a taste for anything if you try hard enough.

As long as you just have a problem with peas and not vegetables in general, though, it's not going to pose a problem. Do at least try things you don't like if they pop up in a dish you don't expect them to, though; it might be the dish that changes your mind.

Ohh hee hee you sound like my brother. He will not eat ANY veggies! He will not eat it unless it is in a drink such as v8 smoothie, power drink, dessert, or etc. He always tells me that veggies are bad for me and that they will kill me in the future. Yes I have heard that eating too many pieces of broccoli or carrots can turn your skin orange or green. LOL. I do try the split pea soup once in awhile and I love celery and others if they have a good ranch dressing or are cooked in a good tasting dish. Whispers.. I also like them dipped in vinegar. I do!
