Is it normal that i hate old people?

I can't stand old people, I despise them. Majority of them are racist and treat younger people like idiots. They think that they're so amazing and better than anyone else just because they've lived longer. They're slow af and ALWAYS in the way. I have to work with so many old ladies and it makes me absolutely miserable. I think they should all be put in homes and not be allowed to leave!
Edit: No I'm not a teenager, I'm mid 20s and I consider old around 60+. Yes I have family members around that age who also highly annoy me.

Well guess what, you'll be old one day too if you live long enough. I'm old but not racist and I don't treat younger people like idiots, although I do make an exception in your case.

      HAHAHAHAHA!

The only way to avoid getting old is to stop living. I suspect that OP is a teenager who is butting heads with parents, or other authority figures, and thinks 40 is old.

Old people know more than you do. You think they don't, but they do.

Sounds like a punk ass response from someone who has no respect. Not every old person is racist or decrepit or anything else you might think means “old”. Yes lots of old people suck, but two wrongs don’t make a right.

True, but one right and one wrong still doesn't make a right.

No, but hating old people for screwing us over does very little to the cause. I hate when my friends say “the choices suck balls, I’m just not gonna vote” those people are the ones who prevent us from making real change.

Actually you’re one of the few people here whose comments I really enjoy every time.

  • It's cruel, idiotic and implausible that you think that they should be imprisoned. Remember, you'll be old unless you die; what then?

However, I do agree that too many old people look down on younger people simply because they've lived longer. There's a quote- "You live and you don't learn."

Some of them don't get that their unwillingness to learn and listen makes them less knowledgeable and more prone to mistakes than younger people with sense.

An old person I knew used the logic of "I've lived and made many mistakes, so I know better than you."

That might have been worth a damn if they weren't still constantly making stupid mistakes and decisions that even teenage me knew were foolish.

If you correct your misspelling I will give you a thumbs up. Come on, you know you would like to look smarter, wouldn't you?

Well, I'm sorry, but I get tired of seeing there, their, and they're being mixed up, because it's not that difficult, and I have a hard time believing that it's all just a matter of typos as a result of predictive text.

So do I. But acting like that does nothing to change it.

If it's legible, then who cares? Or if you really must correct, do so. But "do this and I'll give you a thumb up?" You really think anyone gives a fuck if they have your approval or not?

I'm not saying that to target you. I'd say the same for anyone, myself included.

It was just a friendly offer of a thumbs up for next to nothing. I don't think anyone really worries about whether, or not I approve of them. I try not to worry too much about others' approval online, or in general.

I actually thought the bit about old people, and their yards was rather amusing, despite it's redundancy, but the misspelling just kinda ruined it for me to tell you the truth. Maybe it's because I just really love the English language, and I would like it if people tried a little harder.

To be completely honest I see correcting someone's spelling regardless of the context as just constructive criticism. I don't think there's any real harm in correcting certain mistakes. When someone points out something I've misspelled I will usually not mind, and just correct it. However, it's different if someone is deliberately misspelling something in an effort to express him or herself in a sort of vernacular like so as to express a sort of accent like a Southern accent, Ebonics, that hillbilly talk Donteatstuffoffthesidewalk tries to convey or even an Australian or Scottish accent, etcetera. I honestly like it when people kinda write in a Russian accent. I miss that Hamid guy's posts, but I haven't seen Buggsforbreakfast in forever it seems.

When we work on getting ride of Greed, pride,, jealousy, sloth, envy, wrath. You will noticed how beautiful adorable your eyes will see life. It's not your fault the way you think.

Your reaction is proper to the platform where you're standing on. Its normal, but only you can adjust & choose to grow spiritually. Jesus did it when he was here, so can you. Get it ? ...mmuuahhh

Of course it's normal, all these people giving you shit for thinking otherwise have never lived in a town with a large senior citizen population. I grew up around south Florida for 26 years, senior citizens are AWFUL. They are impatient, entitled, rude, and can't drive for shit (I would honk my horn at least twice a day living there). I've had plenty of friends who worked in restaurants, they always complained about how rude and impatient senior citizens always were.

You don't actually hate them, you just hate your job. Perhaps it's best to start searching for a new job and eventually leaving the one you have before you let it completely consume your sanity.

  • I have to admit that in my experience, older people almost always treated me horribly. Your description is very accurate for my own family and people around them, so I gave you a "normal" vote based on this. Most people here disagree and probably because the vast majority of people are not like that, but we're, perhaps, isolated cases.

If old people got incarcerated into homes, how the hell would Buick stay in business?

Think of GM - the last thing they need right now is to lose another subdivision.
Although, my room mate is talking about wanting to get a Buick. She is close to 30 but sure as hell does not look it.

AND if all the old folks got put away - what about those young men who are into cougars and GILFs? THEN what? They would have to settle for women their own age.

What is going to happen to you, OP, if you live beyond 30 years? Will you change, or still be tragically hip? What will you be like if you live to be 60, 70, or even 80 years old or more?

I dunno, what kinda work you do, but if you have to deal with so many elderly people you need to understand that they weren't always as they are now. Of course I have to ask you if you are getting enough activity with people your own age outside of work?

My younger sister had this one job at a casino where she had to work with practically nothing, but senior women, but I think there was more to it, because they were very cliquey with each other, and bossy towards my sister.

The truth is that I looked at your post, and felt a little annoyed, because my father is 81 years old and my mom is 70. However, I did reread your post, and now I feel like you might be just venting. Anyway, that's my two cents.
