Is it normal that i hate marriage but sometimes wear a faux ring?

I never want to get married and hate the idea of it, but I have a (costume jewelry) ring that looks like an engagement ring and sometimes I wear it when I'm alone. Is it normal that it gives me some strange comfort even though I never actually want to be married to someone? I'm single ATM.
(I didn't buy the ring for this purpose, it came in a set but I find myself slipping it on every once in a while.)
