Is it normal that i hate love songs?

I'm a girl and I hate HATE love songs. They are just the bottom of the barrel, artistically, IMO.

It's not so much the musicality (though most of the time that sucks as well) but the lyrics just drive me insane. All I can picture is a guy with a guitar who is desperate to get laid. Also, I don't think you even have to have any type of creativity to pen a love song.

They just seem so trite and lame! Be creative people, stop writing with your penis!

is it normal to hate love songs (the current worse band for this seems to be Kings of Leon... *shudder*)

    So you don't like Red Hot Chili Peppers? They have A LOT of love songs. So you don't like Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses? So you don't like Nothing Else Matters by Metallica? So you don't like Starlight by Slash feat. Myles Kennedy? What THE FUCK DO YOU LIVE FOR?!? Some of of the greatest songs in HISTORY are Love Songs. Not everything has to be a Slayer song. Kings Of Leon, THEY SUCK as musicians and songwriters.

    i understand what you mean.

    It does seem to be the easiest thing to write about, so most songs just default to being about love. i also think it's annoying and often cliche, although it doesn't bother me to the extent it seems to bother you x)

    i personally wish more songs were about friendship.

    The best songs are written about emotions. Love just happens to be a strong one that the majority of people can relate to.

    aw...even taylor swift? hee hee...she's so cute. yes- agreed- love songs are deteriorating based on the fact that people are just writing because they cant think of a better plot.
