Well, maybe is the same as me. I'm Hispanic and I don't like rock in Spanish. I mostly listen to metal-core bands from Russia, Italy, Germany and the U.S.
It's all about opinions but I bet you would probably like some underground bands from you country wherever you are in America.

Blame Lady Gaga and Rebecca Black. Hell, I just frickin' listen to Metal all day. Even though you're American, it's not normal to hate American music. Think about Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Muddy Waters, Billy Joel and all the way to Nirvana as well as Anthrax. Can't frickin' listen to Eurodance and Jpop all the time. Jpop can screw you up, but at least find the English versions from them. About 95% of musicians from Japan can sing in English. One is M.O.V.E and the other is Lia. Some are also like The Mad Capsule Markets and Puffy Amiyumi. I love any music I want to listen, but I hate dubstep.

you can like or dislike whatever you want. But I dont think you should limit yourself and miss out on some truly great music. Why dont you just listen to music for what it is and forget about who wrote it, who is playing it or when it was made.

Of course it's normal. I don't hate American music but I really love music from other countries, too. Japanese music is truly amazing, both the traditional and contemporary music.

The Beatles, or The Rolling Stones, or The Who would have been nothing without America. We didn't invent that sound; black America did. If white America accepted it more readily from some English boys, then that's how it was at the time, but the wrong people are getting credit.
